Video Editing

I have more than 10 years experience editing videos with Adobe Premiere Pro. I started editing news packages while I was a journalism student at Ball State University, and found that editing came very naturally to me as a writer, but it would still be a few years before I decided to really start pursuing the craft.

When I started working at Videobred, Inc. in 2012, I tried out pretty much every role they would let me. Grip? Nah, I just slipped a disc trying to move three c-stands at once. Producer? My eyes glaze over looking at numbers. Dubs? Who even wants DVDs anymore? But my old pal video editing was beckoning me back, and soon I made friends with After Effects and Davinci Resolve too, though we're still getting to know each other.

I worked at Videobred for 9 years before taking the leap to go freelance. Since then I've landed some assistant editing gigs where I learned a ton and got to flex some creative muscles. Clients include ESPN College Football, MTV Entertainment Group, Paramount Plus, and Nielsen Corporation.

While my journalistic brain does enjoy the organization that comes with assistant editing, I can also edit projects from stringout to delivery, including motion graphics and color correction. Clients where I've been the sole editor include Discovery Canada's show The Daily Planet, the National Museum of African American Music, GE Appliances, KFC, Papa John's, University of Louisville, Hanover College, Brown-Forman, Baptist Health, Appriss Health, eCoach Basketball, Argi Financial Group, National Association of Landscape Professionals, Karl Truman Law Office, Archdiocese of Louisville, Presentation Academy, and Providence High School.
